Northern White Rhinoceros
The Northern White Rhinoceros (Ceratotherium simum cottoni) is one of the most critically endangered species on the planet, with only two individuals remaining, both female. These rhinos once roamed parts of East and Central Africa, grazing on grasslands and savannas.
Efforts to save the species include advanced reproductive technologies and crossbreeding with southern white rhinos. Poaching for their horns has driven them to the brink of extinction, making them a symbol of the urgent need for conservation and anti-poaching measures. Their story serves as a poignant reminder of human impact on wildlife and the importance of preserving our planet’s biodiversity.
