Lemur
Lemurs are unique primates native to the island of Madagascar. With their large eyes, long tails, and playful behavior, lemurs are among the most fascinating creatures in the animal kingdom. Over 100 species of lemurs exist, ranging in size from tiny mouse lemurs to large indri lemurs.
Lemurs are primarily arboreal, spending most of their time in trees. They feed on fruits, leaves, and insects, contributing to seed dispersal and pollination. Sadly, habitat destruction and hunting have made many species critically endangered, highlighting the importance of protecting Madagascar’s unique biodiversity.
